Zero Heating AC & Refrigiration

These Are Some of the Health Problems Linked to Air Conditioning Units

Even when air conditioning units are one of the best ways to help us keep a cool and comfortable temperature in our homes and office buildings, abusing them can result in several health problems. That’s why we need to make sure we are using our AC units properly, without becoming completely dependent to them being working all the time. Otherwise, we might start suffering from different conditions that will be quite detrimental to our well-being. This is list of some of the health problems linked to air conditioning units we should be aware of.

Constantly Being Ill and Feeling Fatigued

One of the most common health problems linked to air conditioning units is feeling fatigued and being ill constantly. This happens when we work or study in over air conditioning environments, experiencing chronic headaches and fatigue. Besides, when we spend most of our time in buildings with permanent cool temperatures, we can also experience constant mucous membrane irritation and breathing difficulties, which lead to other illnesses like colds and flus.

Suffering from Dry Skin

Besides feeling constant fatigue and being ill frequently, being overexposed to air-conditioned spaces, we can also suffer from dry skin. Cold temperatures can cause our skin to lose moisture, which, after long periods of time, can result in our skin becoming excessively dry. Therefore, we should always carry moisturizers with us, especially if our workspace temperature is usually cold and the AC units are on permanently.

Enhancing the Effects of Chronic Illnesses

If we already suffer from chronic illnesses, we should always be mindful of just how much use we give to our AC units. This is because air conditioners tend to enhance the effects of different illnesses, especially when we overuse them. Some of the negative impacts of air conditioners include increasing the symptoms of low blood pressure, arthritis, and neuritis. As a result, AC units can make pain management more difficult to those who tend to overuse their central air conditioning units.

Being Unable to Deal with Heat

Spending a lot of time on rooms or spaces that are permanently cooled down with air conditioning can make us much more intolerant to hot temperatures. When we move from a cold environment to a hot one, we give our body a lot of stress and extra work, having to quickly and suddenly adapt to a completely different temperature. Even when it doesn’t sound too serious, intolerance to heat can increase our chances of dying during heat waves.

Developing Breathing Problems

We know than one of the greatest advantages of having AC in our home, our office, and even our car is that it can keep cool temperatures while also improving the quality of the air we breathe. However, when we don’t clean the filters often and give regular maintenance to our units, we can develop several breathing problems. This is because different germs and micro-organisms live there, and when we have dirty or old filters, these contaminants end up circulating around us, causing breathing problems and air-borne diseases.
